READ BELOW FOR DETAILS REGARDING EACH MATERIAL TYPE AND THEIR CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

Rose Gold / Gold Plated: An affordable option featuring true, 16k rose gold / gold plated over a brass core. This style is excellent for gifting! It may show some wear over time and may be more susceptible to lotions, creams, and chemicals like pool chlorine. It’s not recommended for daily wear and should be removed before showering and swimming, etc. These pieces may be cleaned and polished with a dry polishing cloth.

Rose Gold / Gold Filled: Made 100% of gold, this is a higher quality option excellent for daily wear. It's 14k over lower grade core and does not tarnish and is less affected than plated jewelry by creams, sunscreen, oils and chemicals etc. It is an excellent, affordable option compared to solid gold while still having the same look and feel. These pieces can be cleaned and polished with jewelry cleaner or a dry polishing cloth.

Sterling Silver: Sterling silver is an amazing jewelry metal which boasts high shine and an luxurious weight. It is solid silver mixed with a tiny portion of copper (thus not officially considered hypoallergenic to those who may be highly sensitive to nickel). It has a propensity for mild tarnishing but can be easily re-polished with jewelry polish or a silver cleaner.

Aluminum and Stainless Steel: Lightweight and nickel free, these are both considered hypoallergenic and can be worn by most people that are reactive to other metals. Neither tarnishes or rusts and both are easy to polish and clean. A simple swipe of a dry polish cloth should remove any dirt and revive shine!

Copper: Copper is a strong metal known for its rich color. While it makes stunning jewelry, when left raw it does tarnish over time and requires occasional care to maintain it’s original shine - unless you’re in love with the gorgeous blue and brown patina that develops with time. Our copper jewelry can be coated with a protective jewelry sealant upon request; but if left “raw”, it’s easy to remove copper tarnish with a brief soak in an acidic household product like vinegar, ketchup, or lemon followed by a thorough wipe clean. Copper also has the potential to oxidize, which can cause a green reaction on the skin. While this is completely harmless and can be removed with soap and water, you may choose to coat the inside of your piece with a clear lacquer like nail polish (or request sealant when ordering) to avoid a skin reaction.

Brass: A softer and more malleable version of “gold”, brass is a metal made of a combination of copper and zinc (and sometimes additional metals). Due to it's copper content, brass does tarnish over time but can be re-polished and maintained with a quick cleaning with a soft brush or cloth using common household items that are acidic (like vinegar, lemon, or ketchup). Extreme tarnish can be managed with a brief soak in one of the mentioned “cleaners” prior to being wiped or brushed clean. Brass does oxidize, again due to it’s copper content, so it has the potential to turn skin green. While this is completely harmless and can be removed with soap and water, you may choose to request a jewelry grade sealant to be applied upon ordering or you may coat the inside of your piece with a clear lacquer like nail polish to avoid a skin reaction.

KEEPSAKE STONES:

All DNA-laced keepsake stones are created with a combination of your personal inclusions and a high quality resin mix. Because your stones are made of resin, they are softer than nature-made stones and require attention to detailed care instructions to maintain their integrity and extend their life of wear. Please consider the following instruction for your keepsake jewelry as attention to the below details will help extend the life of your piece and maintain its original integrity. Failure to do so may result in discoloration, disintegration, or other loss of quality.

Keepsake jewelry should be removed prior to washing hands, entering the pool/lake/ocean, or showering. Additionally, it should be removed while playing sports or participating in other extreme activities.

It's best to avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, oils, perfumes and creams, and any type of product that may contain harsh ingredients or chemicals. When not being worn, store away from sunlight.
